College Credit
When you paid to attend Girls State, you also paid for three college credits that will transfer to any college in Utah. The only thing you have to do is fill out the WSU Participant Application for Credit Form. However, you need to fill out this application as soon as possible.
There are two places to find the college credit application. The first way is to go to Weber State University's website and search for Girls State. The second way is to go the American Legion Department of Utah's website at utlegion.org, click Auxiliary, click Girls State, click Girls State 2014 and click the Weber State University Application for Credits in the middle of the page.

Welcome to Girls State 2014
It is time once again for Utah Girls State. Congratulations on being chosen to attend Girls State. As you probably know, you only get one chance to attend Utah Girls State and I'm sure you have heard how awesome it can be. However, you have to take steps to ensure your Girls State experience is memorable.
Step 1 -- Come Prepared This does not just mean packing items like clothes, hairspray & a toothbrush. You need to do some research on items like current events, parliamentary procedure, and writing a bill.
Step 2 -- Get Involved Girls State will only benefit you, and those around you, if you get involved. Girls State offers so many opportunities. Some of these opportunities included running & holding offices (mayor, county attorney, supreme court justice, etc.) serving as a county or state delegate, being a sergeant at arms or judge of election, participating in the evolution of flags or flag retirement, and creating a city song & flag. Please realize that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Girls State offers, but the list is long and you would be overwhelmed at this time.
You will also have the opportunity to meet some amazing young ladies just like yourself. My advice to you is to take every chance you are given -- bus rides, standing in lines, meals -- to introduce yourself to the other Girls State citizens.
I attended an orientation last year where Merilee, the Girls State Director, made a great point. She told the girls in attendance that Girls State gives you a chance to be whoever you want to be for a week. So take a chance!
